Migration: seeing myself in others

The School of Psychology, Politics and Sociology will host an evening of public debate about migration on Friday 11 November 2016, 6pm-8pm, in Augustine Hall, CCCU. The evening will include a film screening, roundtable discussions, and debate about some key issues in the complex landscape of migration in contemporary Britain. We will explore the potentials and possibilities of being able to talk about ‘difference’, and finding ways to ‘see ourselves in others’.

Speakers:

  • Dr Georgie Wemyss, Co-Director of CMRB (The Centre for Research on Migration, Refugees and Belonging) at the University of East London, will be introducing the Film ‘Everyday Borders’, and taking questions.

  • Dr Harshad Keval, Senior Lecturer, Sociology
